Inspection, testing & reporting

Context

An installation degrades invisibly. Terminations loosen under thermal cycling, insulation ages, alterations accumulate without records. Inspection and testing replaces assumption with measurement, and produces a document you can plan and budget against rather than a verbal opinion.

Signs that assessment may be needed

• 02Property purchase, sale, letting or change of use
• 03Insurer, landlord or lender requests for evidence of condition
• 04Visible deterioration, previous DIY alterations or unexplained faults

None of the above should be investigated by opening equipment, testing live circuits or resetting protective devices repeatedly. If any of it involves heat, smoke, water or a shock, read the safety guidance before anything else.
